SUMMARY

I have over fifteen years of programming experience, ten years of Internet experience, and five years of experience managing departments, projects, or programs. I follow closely the developments in Internet and computing technology, and am adept at defining organizational technology strategy and managing its implementation. I have developed numerous Internet services, a corporate intranet, and produced three America Online channels. I am proficient in the use of technologies including HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Java, Perl, PHP, XML, ASP, Apache, and IIS; Windows, UNIX, Macintosh, and mainframe operating systems; Oracle, SQL Server, and MySQL databases; Bricolage CMS, MovableType and Blogger, and AOL publishing tools. I have studied programming languages including Java, C, C++, FORTRAN, Pascal, and Lisp. I have spoken and written about technology policy and the social impacts of computers and the Internet, and advised local government on privacy implications of web applications.

• Designed the information architecture for a new, user-centric, consistent and coherent NASD.com web site.
• Developed prototypes used in user testing and in the implementation of two phases of redesign rollout.
• Conducted user tests and helped to review and select a content management system (Stellent) for new site.
• Co-created style guide and created style sheets to implement the styles and enforce consistency.

• Developed the user interface, program logic, and data model for the new DC Government portal, DC.Gov, in particular the user registration and profile management features, and the interface to an external subscription provider, GovDocs, Inc.
• Developed eGovernment Privacy Strategy and online Security and Privacy documents, to protect customers' privacy.
• Updated online public and charter school database called DCSchoolSearch, provided by the State Education Office.

• Designed the user interfaces for large web-based applications, creating clear, consistent navigation and easy accomplishment of important tasks; implemented these interfaces in JSP, Java Servlet templates, PHP, and HTML.

• Coordinated the design and launch of MusicSpace, managed art production, screen construction, content organization.
