Stories about cool events I've attended, musings about social media and other technology, and commentary about people, issues, ideas, whatever. I've had a web site since 1994, at my own domain since 1997, and switched it to blog format in 2005. Now, in 2008, I've added labels, shuffled things around a bit and fixed some style and UI quirks - hence 2.1. Watch for more widgets and microformats....
I recently signed onto a
statement supporting Net Neutrality that was spearheaded by
New Yorkers for Fair Use. We actually got a bit of
press attention (InfoWorld).
I signed onto that effort as an individual. I also arranged for
CPSR to join the
SavetheInternet.com Coalition as a charter member. I am CPSR's lead Intellectual Property activist, and at the time, I was also a board member.
Others doing interesting work on this issue include
Common Cause,
MoveOn.org, and
Public Knowledge. PK also posted a very funny audio clip of
Senator Ted Stevens (R-AK) speaking against net neutrality.
